If I wanted to swap my indicators and brake light to LED,
Am I going to come in to trouble as the current can fluctuate a fair bit with the old dynamo? I know I'll need a new flasher unit as they work on getting enough current to click in and out, but I don't want say a my rear lights to just click off if the dynamo and charging system can be a bit pants off load.

mongy down there will know more about LEDs
but I imagine you'll want some sort of power buffer (either a capactitor or some more intelligent circuitry) to smooth out the current, and then stepping the voltage down to what the LEDs expect.

Yeah, I thought so.
There are chaos selling bulbs with old holders that have a little led and PCB board that claim to be for classic bikes, could that sort of stuff go on a pcb that small?

Oh yeah, it could be as simple as a small capacitor and a resistor or two
maybe a voltage stabilizer chip, but even those are the size of a sim card so the whole package could be tiny.
