Cake
When i was about 7 or 8, my school gave out raffle tickets for us to sell, to raise money for the school activity fund or some such...

You had to fill out the side with the buyers name and address, so when i sold a wad of about 10 to my dad i was writing out his address, but on about the 5th one i accidentally wrote my address (he didn't live with me and mum you see) "No problem" he said "just stick your name on it" so i did, and off i went and sold the other 50 or so.

Then one day a few weeks later a teacher came into my class, tapped me on the shoulder and told me i'd won!

Wow...out of all my tickets, not to mention everyone elses, there was only ONE with my name on it and it won!!

In my 8 year old head that was awesome (and to be honest, thinking about it, its not to shabby in my 20 year old head either)

And the amazing prize i won against impossible odds?

A home-made cake shaped like Thunderbird 4...

» When animals attack...

I've been pissed on by a Tiger...
I was in the passenger seat at a safari park, i rolled down the window to take a photo of the Tiger who had come unusually close to the fence...as i framed him up, he turned his back to me, lifted his tail and let loose down the side of the car and through the wide open window...if it wasn't for my Matrix like reflexes it could have been a lot worse...luckily standing in the sun for a little while got rid of the evidence...

Also a camel stole my aunts hangbag once...but thats happened to everyone at least once

Quite boring
But got me into trouble with my petty, crazy ex girlfriend.

I had a cold, nothing serious, but i was having a lie-in as an excuse not to do any work.

I got a text from my girlfriend asking how i was and shortly after, a text from a friend saying they were going to play basketball and did i want to come.

I didn't really want to do anything remotely energetic so i decide to exagerate my illness to my friend and play it down to my g/f so she "wouldn't worry"

So i type my "I've got a bit of a cold, but i'm OK" message and send it to girlfriend...

Then i type my "Sorry i'm really ill i can't get out of bed" message....and send it to my girlfriend...

"I can't believe you'd lie to me, my god i can't believe it, you tell your friends things you won't even tell me" messages follow shortly afterwards...

She got bent out of shape about all sorts of silly things like that, but the perfect example of how confusing that girl was is this message:

"don't text me! goodnight!"

an hour later

"I can't believe you didn't text me"

Oh well...

(Also my mum just got a text from my friend that said "I've done the hovering and i'm at work til 8.30 - how lovely of him to let her know)

» When I met the parents

I didn't have
an eventful first meeting with my last girlfriends parents and they loved me from the start (got invited to several BBQ's and got many a "we totally approve" talk, before i even set foot in their house and her mum actually cried when we broke up)

But along the way we had some great stuff happen. Her dad was partially blind, so at my g/f's brothers birthday paty, he tried to give me the cake thinking i was his son.

It was a bit odd when my mum found out we slept together for the first time (i'm still innocent in her eyes) and for some reason my g/f felt compelled to phone her mum and say "guess what..." Fair enough, but all of us had to go out the next day...

Thankfully i had built up points for things like noticing mothers newly dyed hair and according to her gran i was apparently "the nicest 19 year old she'd ever met" (which earned me a lovely jumper, from sainsbury's...)

But i think the winner has to be when her parents came to pick her from something we were doing, where they met a friend of mines parents...well i say 'met'... because they had actually known each other years, as my friends mum had had an affair with my girlfriends dad before he met his wife, but while she was married to her husband...who was friends with my g/fs dad...hehe...fun night...

» Beautiful Moments

My favourite place in the world
is a bench in Mary Stevens park...

It was one of those lovely summer nights when the sun is setting but its still warm.

For undisclosed reasons, me and my girlfriend had had to keep our relationship secret for 6 months. Which was one of the hardest and most painful things i've ever done. But all that seemed worth it when i lay on the bench, looking at ducks swim past on the lake, with my head on her knee, she looked at me and said "I just don't know what you're thinking sometimes" i said "really, like when"...she just stared at me and said "like now"

I sat up and looked at her, the sun reflecting of her deep sparkling eyes and said "I do you know"

I'd never seen her smile so much and that was the first time we told each other "i love you" and when i realised (long overdue) that she was the best thing that ever happened to me and during the next few weeks we told everyone we knew and we were happier than ever...

I suppose the memory is more beautiful now because i had my definition of perfection in my arms...

Unfortunately now i'm pining after her...the one that got away i feel...
*sniff*
