» When were you last really scared?

Long time ago, when I was about 11...
I had a pretty big fear of the paranormal, after reading a few too many ghost books. While at home alone, my sister having gone to her mate's, I was sitting in the living room, I heard a distict cough from upstairs. Aagh, it's a ghost, it's a ghost!!!!!! I panicked and ran outside to stand in the front garden, wondering if I could find my way to my sister's mate's house, though I'd never been to it before, or even knew where it was. Then I noticed the neighbours dog wandering around. 'I know, that'll protect me' I thought, and proceeded to try and coax the dog inside. Didn't work, so I bit the bullet and went back inside to face my fate. And there I saw her...

My sister. She hadn't gone to her mates at all, never even left the house. I don't even know why I thought she had. She was sitting in the living room, wondering what the hell I was doing outside.

Looking back on it, I'm not sure what a coughing ghost could have actually done to me.

Looking back even further, I'm not sure what use the neighbours Jack Russel would have done to a ghost...

» My Collection

No at all impressive, but..
At primary school I used to use a fountain pen. The ink cartridges had a little plastic ball in the top that got pushed inside the cartridge when you loaded the pen. Yep, I collected the little balls. Had over a hundred at one point, kept them in my catridge tin. Then someone threw them over the classroom floor - can't say I was that bothered, it was more of a habit.

Also have collected (and then binned)
- 100 or so real ale bottles
- Every FHM since 1996 til about sep 2006
- Almost every Fortean Times since 2006 (not yet binned though)

Oh, and at the moment 1191 mp3's, which I rarely listen to but couldn't bear to delete.

I also own a replica Polynesian club as used in an episode of Xena: Warrior Princess. God knows why...

» What was I thinking?

North Tyneside, early 90's
Playing in a footie team with my mates at the local boys club, one of the staff asks me if I want to try out for the club team proper.

I say no, as I thought my mates my be pissed at me for ditching them. This team was Wallsend Boys Club, who kick started the careers of Alan Shearer, Robbie Elliott, Lee Clark, Steve Bruce, Michael Carrick, Neil McDonald, Peter Beardsley, Brian Laws, Steven Taylor, Steve Watson to name but a few.

Mind you, it's not like England has been short of a few quality goalkeepers recently, is it?
