# He was a classy smoker
Back in the 70s he presented some TV broadcasts of a handful of classic silent movies. He would do a five minute talk at the beginning, then pop up again for another few words during the intermission. I've got one of these broadcasts on DVD, and you can tell from his demeanour that rather than simply pre-recording his bits he was actually watching the movie along with the audience. During the intermission, he is looking considerably more relaxed and is puffing away on this huge cigar, with a kind of 'ah, it's you again' look.

# Smoking was a lot more classy in the 70's!
I remeber a childrens tv show in the 70's called How! and one of the presenters used to smoke a pipe while he was on, imagine that happening now!
