?
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 5:57, archived)

# i have a copy
of the hobbit i 'borrowed' from primary school

and i've still not read it

# If you like lord of the rings
it's definately worth a read.

Aimed at younger readers than LOTR though.
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 5:59, archived)
# the hobbit
too

# LOTR
Love On THe Rocks:-)

# I don't know
I liked it when I was little, but I had the big, full color version with the orange cover.

I tried to re read it recently, and it's very dull. I do like The Lord of the Rings books though. The first movie was ok, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the second

# the only thing is
the only books i've read are the ones they made me read at school...
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:03, archived)
# hehehe
I read a lot.

Or at least I did until I found b3ta. I did read about 5 or 6 books while I was in the uk, becuase I didn't always have access to a computer

# i kind of

before i got my laptop i had a Pocket PC... i read Band of Brothers in microsoft reader format on that :|

# I'd buy ebooks
but I get a headache trying to read stuff on a screen.
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:07, archived)
# i only got it
to see if there was anything extra/different from the tv series

there were some differences in story (to the soldiers that have since passed away) that were a little odd

# Personally I think
Peter Jackson is gonna be getting sick of the whole Lord Of The Rings thing by now, it's bound to of spent a good few years of his life on it now, so if he does make The Hobbit, I doubt it'd be for a looooooooong time.

And from what I've read Weta Workshop are gonna be doing teh effects of the Evangelion live action movie. Woo!
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 5:59, archived)
# evangelion?
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:01, archived)
# NGE
Anime...

Neon Genesis Evangelion
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:02, archived)
# An anime thing
basically about big robots fighting big things called Angels. THough there is a lot more to it than that.
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:07, archived)
# apparently
he's regretting making all 3 movies at once and says he'll never film more than 1 movie at once again
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:02, archived)
# really?
I think that was the only way to do it. Probably makes editing them together tough, though because you can't go back and film more.

The hobbit would just be one. The animated version is good enough for me, though
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:03, archived)
# they have been going back
and filming more shots for each of the movies after the main film has been done.
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:06, archived)
# have they?
shows how much I know
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:06, archived)
# i dunno if this is true in the US
but over here they bring the films out on DVD then a coupla months later bring out a 'special' DVD which has extra bits in the actual movie

i didn't realise this until i'd bought the first one on dvd

twunts
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:08, archived)
# they're doing that for LOTR
and most movies have a special edition eventually.

I own brazil, but they've released a special edition of it, for example. I'd really like to see what's on it, but I'm cheap
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:10, archived)
# Come to China...
dvd: less than a $, dvd9: 2$, that 4dvd box-set was 8$ I think. Yes, illegal, but no other way of getting them here...
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:14, archived)
# my brother
works for <insert name of major CD/DVD retailer here> so i get a lot of DVDs for nothing :)

unfortunately i bought LOTR... mind you, it's still blinding
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:18, archived)
# Best ever
in my humble opinion
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:20, archived)
# You're right.
I've got the extended DVD of "Fellowship," US version. The extra scenes are actually worthwhile (as opposed to the extras on most other DVDs)...
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:11, archived)
# I've only listened to the Cast commentary
with that one, but it was quite enjoyable, unlike most commentarys
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:15, archived)
# yeah
they did that here in canada...

twunts.. i haven't even opened my copy of fellowship of the ring yet... and i got it the day it came out
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:28, archived)
# this summer
if I'm not mistaken
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:07, archived)
# Well
when watching the 4dvd set, I noticed they had a lot of fun and everything, it even became a way of life. This movie or another, it'll always be hard work...
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:02, archived)
# I'm sure it was fun and all
but for most of the other people involved, it wouldn;t of been constant, the actors for definate, would go off and be able to do things away from it, a lot of the crew wouldn't be filming, etc etc.
But Peter Jackson, he'd of been doing basically just Lord Of The Rings for years.
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 6:09, archived)
# shame
and he's probably on a crap wage for doing it aswell.....
