# trying to limbo through a door that is clearly too small for them
threadjack: you know the windows logo that appears when you start your computer? you can change it with the logo.sys thing in paint right? i can't find it, i have a logos.sys but thats not it. my brother has changed it and i need to get rid of it. anyone know where i can find it?

# ok
logo.sys is in the root of C, just delete it and your normal screen should return

logos.sys is the "it's now safe to shut down" and logow.sys is "please wait while windows buggers all your files up" - they both live in the windows folder

# for alternate screens
there's some excellent programs to make your own, and some great sites full of them - shame they took them out of the newer editions, customising your machine shouldn't be limited so much!

# You can still change
the startup screen of XP - I've done it, but I can't remember the program name now.

# it's a PITA though
you have to hack resources in exe files, then reboot in safemode and all that bollocks, and they're only 16-colour anyway :(
