can i jack this with a question
if i rewrite my wiki think would people rather edit it in standard html (with some limits) or would you rather use the normal simplified wiki language?

I've never had anything to do with a Wiki before, but I played about with a really simple language once on a website. It had about 10 commmands for titles, lists, links etc that seemed to work really well. It was simple enough to summarise on a single side of A4, and it was versatile enough to put up organise lots of information. It was called FTX (dunno how common it is). It worked really well- I'll see if I can find the "manual"...
