I've got one
who is exactly as the Cap'n describes him.
Old lady owner died, we take him from the shelter, he sits on the bbokcase all day and does nothing

you wish? Seriously?
I may be weird, but I have absolutely no understanding of the human need to reproduce.
I mean, I see children the same way I see any other person - some of them are absolutely lovely, but I wouldn't want some random one placed in my house for the next eighteen years.
Plus, children are selfish and self-obsessed and ungrateful and demanding.
I get enough of that from mr b3th and the dog.

Listen carefully this is important news from the real world. Jaffa cakes at Sainsburys are half price. Yup a full box for 49p. It's the moment we've all been waiting for. The revolution has arrived.
