I've never seen these in motion
but they always looked bloody stupid in the stills.

# yeah they look shite in screenshots, but they move really fast
and they glow, so in game they look awesome, and they tend to come at you in numbers so you dont have time to examine them. Similar with the spider things. They look really low poly in screenshots, but are fine in the game because they are fast and numerous.
