It shocked me a bit the harshness of the people on the phonelines to those in the towers, but I can only assume that they had no idea how serious things would play out to be.

Was shocked to see Americans unwilling to be interviewed by someone with a camera too....

It was made up of footage filmed on the day by New Yorkers.

I'll just double check that though....

People find it a lot easier to relate to someone in a picture that they have burned onto their consciences.

I seem to remember seeing a few years ago a documentary on the firemen of New York. That was pretty heartbreaking.
