Why is the hotel suing the victims? For what?

(I read the stories about it, but I still don't understand)

This is a normal post the victims are suing the hotel, the hotel has applied to have their suits dismissed

This is a normal post I understand that part but
it says the hotel company is bringing suit against the victims. I guess it's some legal bullshit, but it still puzzles me.

This is a normal post As far as I can tell the hotel is suing preemptively in an attempt to have the case heard in a court more likely to side with the hotel.
