I'm not sure about this, the police in my area are shockingly poor.

Since I believe that affiliation to a political party should have no place within the police force, I felt compelled to vote for the independent as the least worst option. I would have spoiled my ballot, but that would have just made it easier for one of the politically-aligned candidates to win.
