Well whatever your feelings on this conflict I am glad that the people in the video are safe from the rockets.

It's a bit difficult to tell.

Also, this only serves to underline something I noticed as a result of an interview on the radio earlier. Peter Allen tried to interview a civilian from both Tel Aviv and Gaza about their experience of the current situation but it didn't go that well. The girl from Tel Aviv was almost completely disassociated from it, talking about her Facebook friends being called up and how it was the only thing people were talking about when they went out for dinner. The man from Gaza explained how civilians in Gaza were afraid to leave their houses in case they were killed.

Here we have an air-raid warning, but still the band keeps playing. The disconnect is frightening.

This is a normal post i dunno...
maybe its because we're not used to that constant threat, but I would imagine they would still feel very much on edge. The idea of the party continuing I'm sure is done out of principle, -as a coping mechanism or something, rather than being disconnected from the severity of the situation.

This is a normal post BBC said " 550 missiles had been fired into Israel since Wednesday - 184 had been intercepted by its radar-protective system, Iron Dome."
The sad thing is they send those rockets out of Gaza right next to mosques and playgrounds. Recipe for disaster.

I think what fucks me off the most are people who take sides, how fucking blinkered can you get? Neither of them are at all interested in peace, as it hasn't been on any agenda for the last two hundred years. All justified ultimately in the name of some religious crap. The Palestinians make out they are a community under oppression, and are fed weapons by some of the richest countries on the planet, and the Israeli's enjoy their modern bellicose stance with the economic military aide of the most powerful nation on earth. Truly a recipe for understanding and compromise.

I'm actually quite immune to emotional responses to photographs of the horrors of this conflict such as was on the front page of the Independent today; it's simply pointless getting emotively concerned in a conflict where no one genuinely want's a solution.
