This is a normal post I wasn't aware we nationalised our banks
I thought we kept them private and threw money at them and shuffled their boards around a little bit until they said "sorry, we promise to not fuck up again, here, let us help you write the govt policies that will definitely stop us fucking up again". Interested now? I only found out about it now. That was my concern.

This is a normal post Also, I'd suggest that people are getting more interested now
because they are now noticing that Iceland's economy is doing rather well and wondering what they've done differently.

This is a normal post hahaha, what am I, your Googling monkey??
I have no idea. Since when did good news make the headlines, anyway? You'd have to do a bit of digging to find out what actually happened next. Let me know what you find :-)

This is a normal post Did you get as far as this bit?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationalisation_of_Northern_Rock#Eventual_return_to_the_private_sector

It was sold to Virgin for a song, after we taxpayers plumped it up nicely (Or promised to, by way of borrowing money to give it and increasing our national debt)

This is a normal post Was it nationalised?
Yes it was.

As were Kaupthing, Glitnir, and Landsbanki. Of those the first two have had their assets returned to private ownership and the third is undergoing that process.
