Ace bloody link!
Carpenter when he was at the top of his game.
This remains one of the * embarrassed cringe* few films I choose not to watch on my own. The reveal at the end chills me and -trying not to give too much away- the physical transformation of one of the characters is unsettling to the point where I bottle watching it if Mrs Spicious isn't up.
The last Rue Morgue magazine had a large '25 years on' article about this which was a cracking read, the bicycle death scene was created using a prop from Alice Cooper's stage show, trivia fans.

Cor, I'm going to have to look that up
I love these carpenter films. They look so fucking good as well, I hope he has one more in him before he's gone.
And yes, the end stuck with me as well. Terrifying.. *shudders

Agreed.
I was really hoping The Ward would be his return to form, but *sighs* it wasn't. Nicely shot, but crushingly derivative.
*Weeps*

The professors speech at the beginning always sends chills down my spine.

I love Carpenter
but never got on with Prince of Darkness. It's too much of a fanboy version of a Nigel Kneale story.
Crawlspace is fun, but utterly shit, with a strangely subdued Klaus Kinski
