Good News!
Arise Sir Quentin Blake.
Many of his illustrations are permanently etched onto my eyeballs since I was a small scarabling.
Knighthoods and OBEs and the like are a bit of old bollocks but I like it when a top bloke gets the nod.

Good stuff.
I alike have his illustrations as an integral part of my childhood.
However, Tracy Emin in the same sentance as Kate Bush?

The honours system isn't bollocks! It's bloody fantastic.
Which part of giving back something to people who put lots in do you object to?

You object to Britain's most famous philanthropist being knighted?
Or should we not award anything to anyone on the grounds that they might be a secret paedo?

Isn't the problem
"famous philanthropist".
The "famous" bit implies that they are very vocal about giving money to charity and are very keen to be called a "philanthropist". He hardly gave so much money that it effected his life as many people do. Likewise, Sir Bono.
Some people having honours seems to devalue the honours of people who deserve them. Lots seem gained because of fame, or because of political support.
