"famous philanthropist".

The "famous" bit implies that they are very vocal about giving money to charity and are very keen to be called a "philanthropist". He hardly gave so much money that it effected his life as many people do. Likewise, Sir Bono.

Some people having honours seems to devalue the honours of people who deserve them. Lots seem gained because of fame, or because of political support.
