I don't think Hitchhikers Guide is that great. It's just not to my taste. Douglas Adams, however, was an interesting person. I think I know more about him that I know about his books.

On the subject of colour perception, I have asked many friends, and they have thought I'm odd. I have googled it, but with no joy. The wierd thing is that red always seem very subtly closer to me than blue .
Not in 'real life', but when seeing a black computer screen with blue and red items there, the blue is subtly regressed from the screen, and red is slightly embossed to my eye.
I'm not colour blind. I've done many tests. Modern 3D works, but when seeing the older anaglyph 3D, it just doesn't work for me.
has anyone else experienced this?

My optician does a red/blue test, it always fucks me up.
Even that RED/BLUE with blue/red background picture on that wiki page screams bloody murder at my eyes.
I have a slight astigmatism too, all bright lights tend to spike/flare, headlights, street lights, etc. Blue LEDs really burn into my retinas too.

There are no surprises here.
This tune which corrals 12 different genres (All About Eve, Furries, etc) go exactly where the flags are pointing, dropping little drum'n'bass mash-ups or maudlin, string-laden interludes right where the commercial template dictates. Bludgeon them, then drop a wistful bit, repeat til fade, it goes. A huge dose of wub-wub mega bass drop would have complimented the weak vocals perfectly.

doesn't matter if they are audible or not as it's the beat frequency that is relevant. and that frequency is likely to reside in the inaudible range anyway, which is where the very brain waves that they are looking to influence are. don't spend money on it though just make your own with freeware, you only need a tone generator and headphones. frequency x in left ear, frequency y in right ear leaving frequency (x-y) - the beat frequency - in 'the middle'.

i've often wondered about how often it may happen unintentionally in music
hanging notes, pedal points, wolf tones or whatever you call 'em, creating beat frequencies, inducing emotional or psychological effect and (unconsciously?) influencing the choice of notes/chords/changes and what have you.
but not enough to research it further as yet, as it's far too much fun just making noise without thinking about it.

as it happens breezeblock does ring a bell, I was really quite high at the time. My friend had it on a tape he recorded off the radio. I was pill tripping, man... it probably doesn't sound as good now. I'll let you know. :D
Edit: It was definitely in 2000, I got mugged and ended up in hospital a few weeks after I heard it. This mix is later, Just have to see if it contains the remix. The start is wicked, I'll check the rest in a bit.
