However, if you have 45mins to spare then this Russian documentary on the civil war in Syria gives a very different perspective on things when compared to William Hague's take on things..

That's fantastic
I love the fact they have no idea who #4 is.
As an explanation for the quality though they did take them from Men's Health - which is basically gay porn for those too embarrassed to buy the real thing.

Given Russia can barely manage to be anything vaguely resembling a democracy
I am extremely reluctant to give 45 minutes of my life over to their interpretation of what's essentially some people trying to topple a tyrant. Care to elaborate?

The Islamic Brotherhood's problem with Assad
is that his regime isn't Islamic enough.

Well that's always the potential danger of tolerating dictators 'because it spares us the Islamic nutters'
but we've really got to move on from the age of the middle-east hard men, and let the Syrian people choose their destiny.

You couldn't really worry about a more extreme Islamic regime than the House of Saud could you?
I mean that society is about as mental as you could wish upon anyone, except their government is more or less onside given they know who's buying their oil making them so incredibly wealthy. If anything when Saudi society finally pops, it will be a liberal uprising, not a more conservative one. It's simply impossible to be more conservative than how their society already is.

Indeed,
but who would support such an uprising? There were a few protests a while back, the authorities threw them some tiny morsels of reform and everyone just shrugged and carried on as normal.
Most people are like that, really, they just want to get on with their lives, thinking the bad shit won't happen to them.

But the mental shit is happening to them now.
Fuckk the uprising, it will fuck them up for years to come.

It's obviously not a basket case like Syria, but a quick google of Saudi Arabia discontent and all is not butterflies and unicorns at the moment

we seem to be up to our necks paying interest to the bankers as it is, a surge in oil prices would be just what we don't need

Oof, you well may be right, kind of, sort of.
It's not quite so easy as in Europe, the culture is used to the hard-man and toppling one results in a need for another one to replace him with. That fat cunt in Qatar toppled his dad and is now bricking it that one of his fat cunt sons will do the same to him, karma I guess.

Give the vid a watch and use a hefty dose of cynicism as to the politics.
Dreadful what's going on in Syria.

I feel like I did when the Hutus and Tutsis were filling Lake Victoria with the dead.
The world just watched. Same here.
Sod Russia and China's vetoes.
I've just been watching a documentary on Seal Team Six who did away with that Bin Laden fellow.
One well placed bullet would do much good. Before another 60,000 people are killed.
Enjoy your evening!!! I'm watching Django Unchained and Killer Joe.
