: KILL YOUR FRIENDS UPDATE

last week we created a game where you could upload
photos of your friends, and shoot them.

we called it - and here comes the shock - kill your
  friends.

  the response has been great:

*) 618 people have uploaded images

*) 1588 highscores have been generated

*) 722 of those were in a shoot geri
       halliwell game.

*) player carlos heehee has shot his
friend 921 times, scoring 1.8 points.

we have been particulary pleased with people using
it for social satire. Our favourite three are:

: scoot (the UK online directory) & burning money
we can only guess that an employee is unhappy with
the management, which considering that shares in
scoot.com have halved following an announcement
that the company is almost out of cash, is harldy
      suprising.

      : queen mother
considering that she's currently recuperating at
her London residence Clarence House after
undergoing a blood transfusion for anaemia, this
is in particulary poor taste - and made us snigger.

      : mike of urban75
someone from his message board uploaded him.
mike say "great fun - loved it! sorry for the lack
      of controversy!"
(btw: mike was behind the '96 web clasic,
       slap-a-spice game)

(btw2: to help promote the game we sent
popbitch.com a geri halliwell version of
the game, and ntk.net one with
Jakob Neilson. both were linked in their
      emails. er... )

  kill your friends. now.

: WHO IS THE MYSTERY KUNG-FU STICKMAN?

recently people haven't stopped sending us links
to the fantastic kung-fu stickman animations.

we are fascinated by them. the movement is
  beautiful, and their origin mysterious.

digging about we can find only the following
  facts by the author:

    name: mr. zhiqiang zhu
    nickname: xiaoxiao
    nationality: chinese

we are desperate to know more about Zhiqiang
and are currently we are in negotations with a
shaolin monk to get an expert opinion on the
kung-fu, and a translation of the chinese in
  the work.

if you haven't seen them all, then you
  are in for a treat:

xiaoxiao 1 (watch small kung-fu movie)

xiaoxiao 2 (press space bar for different anims)
  http://games.sohu.com/fightgame/fight2.htm

xiaoxiao 3 (the one that made his name)
  http://games.sohu.com/fightgame/fight3.htm

  xiaoxiao 4 (3d shooter)

: WATCH WHAT PEOPLE TYPE INTO SEARCH ENGINES

metaspy shows you the queries other people are
typing into search engines as they type them

  some examples:

*) "porn movies made in pakistan "

    *) "acupuncture shoes"

    *) "motorcycle shops toronto"

this is what the web is really about.

we've taken these queries, and stripped the fluff
that was around it, so that we could use it in a
  visual projection.

  rob says:

"it took me five minutes to make and I spent
the next three hours watching it on 3 monitors. it
was a bit like an early 90's U2 concert."

  pretend you are bono:

: WEB HERO No.1 : CRAIG OF FLIPFLOPFLYIN

    name: craig robinson
    age: 27
who: english web designer working in berlin.

craig is swiftly becoming an internet superstar
with his influential and much-imitated graphic style,
of which the mini-pops have had the most press.

it should be pointed out that craig's latest work
is fantastic too. particulary the 24 hr billie
jean, and the adventures of ralf.

we caught up with craig to try and get a sense of
  the boy behind the pixels.

  [b3ta] When are you happiest?

[craig] Currently: when it's a warm evening and
I'm sat on my balcony with a Cherry Coke
and a book. Or cycling around Tiergarten.
All time best thing: in bed with someone
that I love on a Sunday morning.

What were you like at school?

Same as everyone, really. If I applied
myself... etc Into art and woodwork and
technical drawing. Neither one of the cool
kids or one of the nerds. Somewhere
            in the middle

  What is your proudest moment?

When FFF got a full page in the Daily Mirror.
Specifically because my Gran gets it delivered
every day and I knew that she'd be so proud
            of me.

  How's living in germany?

Far better than living in London. Splendid.
Wide pavements, old buildings, lovely cafes,
            cycle paths, beautiful women.

What question should we have asked you?

What other Yo!s should there be? I have some
ideas for Yo! Sushi expanding their range:
Yo! Chips Yo! Hot Dog, Yo! Eggs, Yo! Baked
Spuds, Yo! Ice Cream, Yo! Cornflakes,
            etc....
