This is a question Karma

Sue Denham writes, "I once slipped out of work two hours early without the boss noticing. In my hurry to make the most of this petty victory, I knocked myself out on the car door and spent the rest of the day semi-conscious, bowking rich brown vomit over my one and only suit."

Have you been visited by the forces of Karma, or watched it happen to other people?

Thanks to Pooflake for the suggestion

Have a look on Friends Reunited
And that'll disabuse you of any delusions that karma could exist. For example:

1) Nobby Smith - the school bully who kicked you in the knackers and stole your sandwiches almost every day. He failed all of his GCSEs and got arrested for GBH. Now he's happily married with kids and has his own carpentry business earning more than you.

2) Vincent Bodkin - brainy kid whose parents were both university professors. He was bullied mercilessly for years on account of his large head and thick specs and went on to get five As at a level. Now he's dead - cancer of the colon aged 31.

3) 'Chip-pan' Katy - daughter of unemployed scumbags, she was a slag who'd toss off anyone for a Curly Wurly and who got pregnant aged 14 by a man she met outside a pub. Expelled for sniffing glue. Now she's a lottery winner living in Mauritius.

4) Bruce Legover - handsome but utterly ignorant football player with the charm and presence of a fart. Treated girls like shite and bullied boys who didn't line up to be on the team. Now playing for Man United on £100, 000 a week.

Fuck karma.

Or
you could find - as I did - that the bitch who verbally taunted me and all the other "bright" kids every single day of high school (four long years) had choked to death on her own vomit whilst high on petrol fumes. I felt sorry for her parents, but the world's a better place without her in it.

Mind you, this is maybe less karma and more the price of doing stupid stuff like inhaling petrol fumes. Either way..

Well put
I spend my schooldays wallowing in misery being the least popular person due to general social inadequacy and strict parents who won't let me out to parties. I make up for it by studying to please my parents and get 6 A-levels at grade A and a place at Cambridge. I don't get laid till I'm 20. University is fucking miserable too. I end up dropping out, having developed the living hell that is paranoid schizophrenia and now I can't get a job and still live with my parents aged 29. And I still can't get laid. And I'm fucking fortunate compared with countless third-world dwellers with an average life-expectancy of about 5 who should rightly biff anyone with any dreary hippy ideas about karma (try telling them they were bastards in another life).

The guy who bullied me the most at school, was utterly ruthless with women, and scraped his A-levels is now earning £50+ in advertising. Flash bastard is a regular about town in designer clothing, posse of coke-addled hangers on and company BMW; he continues to be known as a bastard and there is no sign of it catching up with him.

George Bush will have a comfy retirement utterly untroubled by his lack of conscience; people will continue to make millions on heroin deals and retire in the sun; Paris Hilton will continue making something out of absolutely nothing; all in direct contravention of karma.

You went to the wrong school
Our school bully was knocked down and killed just weeks after he left school. And everybody was still upset.

I've since met our school bully at a school friend's wedding...
... nobody knew why he was there, but after being expelled he now owns his own business. Although I did keep expecting him to punch me in the head, he actually had turned out alright, and said that he realised that he'd been a bastard... especially after being booted out of school he ended up on a building site where he was swiftly brought down a few pegs. I still don't think he could realy have any concept of the upset he caused to numerous people, but I'm still glad that I saw him and he didn't hit me.

the school bully at my school
ended up in the army after leaving school, then joined the police, and is now a teacher in a secondary school.

The mind boggles.

Re: Wrong school
The baddest one of our school bullies ended up being maimed for life after an attempted break-in at a building site went horribly wrong. He now has a pronounced limp and is missing a couple of fingers.

Last time I saw him he was being thrown out of an early doors pub, soiled with vomit and reeking of piss.

Hmmm
Great last statement!

I wish I'd come on this week as a nebie now!

Couldn't agree more Mr Spencer
Most of this is stupidity, blind luck or human nature.

Im not entirely sure that ventilating your head in a bunker is much karmic balance for ethnicly cleansing a few million people.

Anyone that says good things come to those that wait can just go skip as well

Nicely observed
Though underlining the absolute randomness of things and lack of any real plan or justice has depressed me somewhat.
I get round the possibility of karmic justice by simply wishing people what they wish for me. Just in case...you know.
