London weighting was because the wage of a lot of NHS staff was below the living wage for NHS staff in london.
It's the difference between topping up and pulling down.
I don't agree with the london weighting, I think it would be much better to have more available and affordable Key housing within the M25.

But it's there to offset the difference in the cost of living.

Because it's based on the principal of everyone struggling the same amount
not everyone being as comfortable as each other. And that from ultimatly an employer is callous and immoral.
