This is a question Premonitions

When I was 14 I had a really scary dream about being run over. A few days later, as I gently bounced off the front of a volvo who seemed incapable of indicating, I found this vaguely reassuring.

Last week 'emadex' managed to respond to this weeks question a good five days ahead of time, so it would only be courteous to ask: What spooky premonitions have you had?

Airsofting
Best way I describe it is paintballing without the paint and with a hell of a lot more game tactics!

Mr Mogg plays it regularly. I have to put up with his incessent talk about it!

No-one will believe this.
At work this morning, we were discussing celebrities who had died prematurely (morbid bunch n all). We were listening to the Smiths and someone pointed out that the song There Is A Light... on the Queen Is Dead kind of prophesises the death of Di and Dodi. Kind of. Much ohhhhyeahhhing ensued. Just now I started reading this week's answers on B3ta. This one stood out...

Load of old......
...Cunt. That is what this post is, a big pile of cunt stinking the place up.
I predict that anyone who thinks they have seen the future will not have sex with a member of the opposite sex for around 5 years.

Mr Bump
I decided to but something dorky for my fella once so while walking round the cheapest section of the toy store I decided on the Mr Bump (of Mr Men fame)book.

I was going to give it to him the next day to try and ward off the inevitable hangover from the night in the oub we were planning-it seemed somewhat of a good choice as when he was exiting the pub he decieed to bundle his mate and promptly fell over smacking his head on the bar leaving him with a egg sized bump on his head for a week after!

Yay for Mr Men's action at a distance.

Airsofting premonition (different, I know)
Went airsofting the other day, as usual I ended up lost in a small clearing in the middle of the most out-of-the-fucking-way part of the jungle area.

All of a sudden, I had an urge to duck (never heard anything, at least not on a conscious level) and spray randomly. I did so, firing a short burst into the foliage.

Managed to take out a pair of sneaky red buggers who had been following me for the last 15 minutes waiting for a good spot to ambush me.

My premonition just came out of the blue. I just thought "Fuck! Duck! Shoot! Over There!"

Spooky.

secrets of the universe
not strictly a premonition... but spooky nonehteless

I was once abducted by aliens. They wanted me to do all thei washing up. it was a lot of washing up because they had been busy discovering the secrets of the universe.

Unfortunatley for me, they kept revealing the secrets they had discovered, but then, becuse they didn't want me to expose their knowledge, they's whack me over the head and knock me out, erasing the memory of the secret most recently revealed.

I was finally returned to earth when I had finished the washing up. I awoke in a ditch several miles form my home, surrounded by mysterious empty bottles and with a bad headache from all the blows I had recieved.

radio gaga
For some strange reason I have the ability to pick up FM frequency in my brain. I will have a tune in my head and then turn the radio on and its playing. It happens all the time at least once a week.

Paper-Whites
This just happened today. I was in the bathroom, just walking out, when I smelled the distinct smell of paper-whites in the house. I looked all over the place, trying to find out where they were (that breed of flower's got a special significance to me (don't ask why)), and I couldn't find any. Then, at the dinner table, my mom says to me "oh, Dean, I got some paper-whites. They're in the cabinet in the laundry room". "That explains it," I thought. I go to the laundry room. The paper-whites are still a bunch of odorless bulbs. Not a blossom in the bunch.

when we moved into this
house,we found out our current microwave was too big.so naturally we bought a new one.anyway, when we were in the shop I kept walking past a certain microwave and when I did,my arm ached.about the third time i walked past i said to my mum "this one will fit." without looking at the box or anything.so we bought it,it fit and now when i cook things in it I can *always* tell when there are ten seconds left with absolutely no way of knowing.

plus just like someone else here I get pains if I'm about to hurt where the pain was.
edit:It just happened then! I got a small headache and i tripped and wanged my head!

edit2:plus i can always tell where my cat is.I gather it's because I chose him out of 25 or so cats, and i named him.
edit3:heres the cat!

his name's rory.
edit4:i had a premonition of my first cat dying.wasn't very pleasant.

when i was 5...
I had this stuffed gorrilla named Dan. (in fact, i still have him. he's sitting on my bed right now)
i was planning on going shopping in a town 40 minutes up the coast with my mom, sister and grandma. that morning, while consulting Dan, he told me that i should take an overnight bag because i wouldn't be home that night. my mother thought it was odd when i walked out to the car with my bright green ninja turtles back back filled with the following:

-1 pair of underwear
-1 pair of pajamas
-1 outfit for the next day
-1 toothbrush
-1 swimming suit

she thought it even odder when i told her the mysterious message i had recieved from my cotton filled, banana weilding friend.

after a full day of shopping, we got on to the freeway and were recieved by a whole shit-ton of traffic. we promptly turned on the radio. it tol us that there had been an oil spill between the where we were and where we lived. the roads had been closed.

the hotel we stayed in had a pool.

and i was the only one with clean underwear.

Dont tell me ur life story!
Scarey as it sounds I seem to be able to hear someone's life story and then they die.

Every evening I would see my next door neighbour, really top bloke always a jester was out in the garden. For some reason I stopped to speak to him which was unusual I normally say something to wind him up.

He procedded to tell me his life story about things he remembered as a kid and what he loved to do when he was my age. He told me about all the good things that happened in his life.

Anyway I went to my mates house straight afterwards, returned about 2 hours later to find my parents were out and there were some hysterical women outside which were his daughters.

After I had spoken with him he felt funny and had gone indoors, moments later he had a massive heart attack. My father a coastguard and trained first aider try to resusitate him. He had died!

The thing is this has happened twice now where people tell me their life stories and die.

Also at school when I was about 15 I spend about 6 months living my dream. I would go home ever night and dream about school the next day, everything from what we were going to be taught to what was for lunch. I remember standing the cue for lunch and had a triple da ja vu where I seen myself in the dream knowningly that I was having a da ja vu in my dream.

Head f$$K!

It scared the shit out of me...
I had a vision, while dozing off one day, of my dad lying on his back on the back seat of his car, fixing something on the driver's seat. I saw him clutch his chest and he died of a heart attack.

A week later, the driver's seat on his car broke (hinge fell apart) and he was lying on that back seat, just as I'd seen him, removing the old seat and putting i a new one. I was terified, and wouldn't leave him alone for a second for fear of the impending heart attack. Fortunately, that part of my premonition didn't come true.

I was only so scared of it because I have had loads of insignificant premonitions come true, and it was a strange coincidence that my dad would be in such an odd place (lying on the back seat of his car) so soon after the vision.

I spent my entire teenage years
predicting the end of the world on 12th September 1981 in a firey armageddon of nuclear warfare and Mutually Assured Destruction.

I was right too. You're imagining all this.

Car Stereo
My car stereo and I are best friends. I always set it on random when I put in a CD, so I never know which song will play next -- allegedly. Every once in a while, I will say, "Come on, Stereo, you know what I want to hear, so give it to me," and the song that I am thinking of will play. If you are in America, and see a girl driving down the street in a beat-up Mustang with Transformers logos all over it, and she is cheering at what seems to be her dashboard, rest assured that my magical CD player has done it again.

Beat this
About 10 years ago i had a dream about princess Di and Jill Dando flying a plane, filled with newspapers declaring a war in the middle east, into the world trade centre which fell onto a rugby tour bus meaning jonny wilkison won the rubgy world cup for england, and then he told me he had sequenced the human genome which he had done to honour his dead mate john peel. weird eh?

spoooooky
I was a spooky 4 year old, but my premonitions were never very useful. I told my dad it was lucky he'd found some bin liners, when I had been in my bedroom upstairs and he had been in the garage and couldn't have known about it. And I said "10,000" for no reason in the car once, when he had noticed that the car had just done 10,000 miles. I tend to keep this to myself now, it doesn't seem to impress the ladies.

i had a premonition that, in about a year's time, i'd still be sitting at the same desk doing the same shit, but hating it even more.

Sure enough, it's true!

Grandad
Before I was born my parents lived in germany for a few years. Whilst out there my mum woke up one night and thought she saw my grandad (her father) sitting on the end of the bed watching her sleep. He smiled at her and she just put her head back down on the pillow, glanced at the clock (it said it was about half two in the morning) and went back to sleep as if him being hundreds of miles from home and at the end of her bed was perfectly normal. She isnt sure if she dreamt it or not.

Anyway next morning she woke up and my nan phoned up. My grandad had died that night. About half two in the morning.

psychic legs
this has happened a couple of times. usually when I'm walking somewhere alone and it's dark. I get a sudden pain in my leg, or my foot. Thinking nothing of it, I tend to carry on walking. Then I fall over and smack, or twist, whatever part of my leg it is that was in pain before. Annoying? Yes. But I've learned to walk very slowly when I get a pain in my leg now.
