This is a question Protest!

Sit-ins. Walk-outs. Smashing up the headquarters of a major political party. Chaining yourself to the railings outside your local sweet shop because they changed Marathons to Snickers. How have you stuck it to The Man?

How to render any protest invalid
1. Invite the socialist workers party to print signs and march with you shouting unintelligble crap through bullhorns.

The signs are instantly recognizable and effectively tell standers by that your protest is completely meaningless and has been hijacked by workshy dole scroungers and postgrad humanities students.

^This.
I get so sick of those wankers hijacking any protest going. One of the reasons people didn't want to go on fees marches when I was a undergrad. You'd go for a protest about fees and these wankers would turn up with placards about everything else and start trouble with the coppers. Then the students would get a bad rep on the news and with the police.

"Socialists" are the born-again Christians of the political world.

I once had a merry argument with the Socialist Workers
On the basis of my having a job and them not, which I felt invalidated their claim to be workers.

My brother in law did something like that once. Challenged a bunch of them to shoe they actually worked. None of them had ever had a real job.

I lost my
youthful excitement in politics because of those dicks. I was at an anti-loans march in 1993ish, and saw someone from the Socialist Workers Party arguing with someone from the Workers Socialist Party (or similar) arguing over some point of dialectic. It was then I realised that none of these idiots cared at all about improving the world, only about being right about the interpretation of some obscure marxist text.
