This is a question I Quit!

Scaryduck writes, "I celebrated my last day on my paper round by giving everybody next door's paper, and the house at the end 16 copies of the Maidenhead Advertiser. And I kept the delivery bag. That certainly showed 'em."

What have you flounced out of? Did it have the impact you intended? What made you quit in the first place?

Think about those that cant quit.
All week we have been hearing of hilarious stories of people just packing up their stuff, telling the cunt of a boss to fuck off and just leaving their jobs just like that.

For a lot of people though, the reality isnt that simple and they arentin a position to just up and leave.

Take for instance, my previous eemployer. Not many English speaking companies around my area, except this one. And they were a big company. They knew that eople didnt really have anywhere to go except back to the UK if they left this job.

So they made us work 12 hours a day just mto make sure we didnt have time to learn the local language and generally treat everyone like shit. Their attitude was, is that we were suppsoed to be greatful for wokring there and if we wasnt then to f*ck off right now because there isnt any shortage of people wanting to live out here and earn the salary they were paying.

In the bank account the salary looked good. Until I worked it out per hour, and realised that I was getting paid under the UK minimum wage for a skilled job :)

Some people had come over here with wives and Children and just couldnt leave despite getting emotional blackmail and allsorts from this company that I cant even go into.

So after 9 months of being there, they started trying their shite with me. Ushered up to the big directors office. The cunts there with 8 26" monitors hooked up to his PC, and starts telling me that theyre not happy with my performance (despite hearing the contrary from my line managers downstairs who were very happy with me) and telling me that they were going to give me a second chance, and seconded me in another department. Oh thank you very much.

So the fun I had when I stuck my notice in. I found another job nearby, less hours more money, no backwards twisted directors. This director in question is one of those from a sales background and has an answer to everything. After harassing me for the last few months he didnt even say a word to me as i "worked" my notice period. I say worked, I did fuck all :)

But despite escaping myself, there are still many there who put up with crap because they want the sunshine. (except its usually dark when they come out of work)... Suckers.

I will never get myself into that position. Always have a few months salary gathering interest in a savings account, so if your job begins to own your life, you can say..

I QUIT!
