This is a question Racist grandparents

It Came From Planet Aylia says: "My husband's mad Auntie Joan accused the man seven doors down of stealing her milk as he was the first black neighbour she had. She doesn't even get her milk delivered." Tell us about casual racism from oldies.

Thanks to Brayn Dedd who suggested this too

Bloody Hell. I just won at Racist Grandparents.
You all can stop playing now.

You see, aside from the general ambient levels of absolute white supremacy that exists across the entirety of rural Australia, I couldn't remember any particularly stunning displays of overt racism from any of my grandparents.

But then I realised that Nana and Pop were Roman Catholics. And there is seriously no organisation on earth more fucking racist than that.

So much so that
up until 1970 they refused to abuse Asian children.

*snort*

Sorry
but they *were* Papists. Therefore most of the colonies and about 9/10 of the white men in the mother country look down even upon them. Better luck next time.

'mother country'?

Oh bless the mother.
Sorry.

Catholic church is catholic
catholic means - "Universal; of interest or use to everyone" OED

My experience of the church is that they are the opposite of racist. The church is strongest is Asia, Africa and South America. The pope might usually be Italian, but that is changing. There are many different accusations you can level at the Catholic church, but racism is one that will stick the least.

Read what Justine said again Griffy.
"The pope might usually be Italian"

This is true, the church for it's many issues, problems and dodgy theological thinking has not been racist as such, fuck yes there are many more deep rooted problems.
(, Sun 30 Oct 2011, 19:34, closed)

you think not letting any coloured folk rise to the top in, I repeat - 2000 years - is somehow not particularly racist? I agree with you that racism mightn't necessarily be the root problem here, but no way is it NOT a problem.

Doesn't the pope claim to be g0d's goto dude on earth? Are you telling me that g0d has had some sort of dialogue over the years along the lines of "Don't promote the darkies or the chinks (and fucking altar boys is ok as long as no one finds out). kthnxbye" ?

i think you are being a little unfair
Have you actually looked that fact up?

There have been a few popes from africa, and a few from the middle east. In fact, St. Peter was from the middle-east so was probably dark skinned.

Also, remember Jesus almost certainly was, too.

If you think about the fact that Christianity has only existed in the wider world, outside europe and the mediterranean for a couple of centuries, it doesn't strike me as that unfair that no non-european has been Pope for a while.

I looked it up as far as the crusades and I thought "What a pack of arrogant, intolerant, racist pricks. I'm not wasting anymore time on this deluded pack of sexist, BABY RAPING cuntbars."
why? Is there something about this evil moral vacuum of a corporation that you really wish to defend - and thereby publicly declare that paedophilia is ok?

not to go off-topic, I still claim that they are very, very racist. And sexist. And guilty of mass sexual crimes against children.
(, Mon 31 Oct 2011, 10:44, closed)
I'm not denying there is a lot of things wrong with the church
But you really need to put a bit of research into your arguments. I don't think partially researching something and then making assumptions counts.

Saying that I support paedophilia because I get fed up with people not researching arguments is a bit tenuous.
(, Mon 31 Oct 2011, 12:26, closed)
Not really.
I just can't take anyone who supports the baby-raping church seriously.

There is not much point to me obsessively researching every salient fucking fact because a)I get very, very angry when I read about the crimes that the church has been allowed to commit for millennia; and b)This is Qotw.

i cant be bothered tp research this
But because you are Australian, you are exactly the same as your hated Rupert Murdoch.

Just saying.
(, Mon 31 Oct 2011, 13:19, closed)
no, I'm more like
HITLER.

And I'm not reporting news here, I'm slandering the church. Fucksocks, do you NOT KNOW the difference? Sounds like maybe YOU have a touch of the Rupert-Brush about you.
