This is a question Silly Achievements

Happy Phantom writes, "Sometimes - by planning or happy accident - you achieve something with which you are quite pleased, but which makes little or no difference to the rest of the world.

"This morning, I woke up and spontaneously farted the opening three notes from The Frog Chorus."

What did YOU do?

Pub quiz
I got the exact answer on one of those maverick questions thrown out in the middle of pub quizzes. Question was "in what year did Mozart die". Without breaking stride, I just said '1791'. Won a bottle of prosecco.
Studied him in A-Level German about 20 years ago, dint I? Never thought it would come in handy. Well proud.

Another one....
The (sadly now well gone) local pub quiz used to have 2 questions at the end which were for a cash prize and it accumulated every week. Was up to 80 quid when we (me, my ex and one of may mates won it).

Q1: Which band took it's name from the average amount a man ejaculates at orgasm?

Q2: Which band took it's name from a newspaper headline published about Frank Sinatra?

The first is 10cc - presume the second is Frankie Goes To Hollywood?

Yep,
Turned out the 10cc one was an urban legend but we were happy to take the money ;)

Mozart was Austrian
Why would you be studying him in A-level German too?
(, Tue 21 Oct 2014, 13:10, closed)
Anschluss
Adolf was an Austrian too and that didn't stop him developing his career in Greater Germany. A-Level German syllabuses are inclusive of the achievements of their near neighbours.

Interesting.....
There's 9 neighbouring countries to Germany (10 if you include Liechtenstein, which although not directly adjoined, might be considered a neighbour). They must have long lessons if they cover the achievements of all of their neighbours.

That said, the theme of this question is "silly achievements" and both Hitler and Mozart qualify in this field. So maybe the syllabus only covers neighbouring countries silly achievements, which should bring down the teaching time somewhat.

The greatest trick the Austrians ever pulled off
was to convince the world that Beethoven was Austrian and Hitler was German.
