What Video Game Character Are You? I am a Gauntlet Adventurer.I am a Gauntlet Adventurer.

I strive to improve my living conditions by hoarding gold, food, and sometimes keys and potions. I love adventure, fighting, and particularly winning - especially when there's a prize at stake. I occasionally get lost inside buildings and can't find the exit. I need food badly. What Video Game Character Are You?

strict psycho mother
i have a mother who won't let me go out after 6pm. she doesn't allow me to grow my hair. she doesn't cook for me. she takes the food i cook away from me. she argues with me about petty things and then locks me out of my bedroom. she hits me with her rubber slippers. she used to hit me with the hangers but stopped because they broke after the beatings. she takes my salary from my bank savings. she pulled a knife out at me. she tried to stranggle me once. she sometimes threatens to kick me out of the house.

(this was all before i turned 18. 19 at the moment.. once i'm done with uni, i'm getting the hell out of that house. ><)

» My Greatest Regrets

building a good computer
sounds like a crazy thing to regret but... i really do regret it.

after my old compaq broke down after almost 6 years of usage, my mother wanted to buy a new one from Costco (a warehouse retailer in the USA). i shuddered at the thought of getting one there since they don't carry good products. so i told her that i'll buy the parts and build one... which i did.

i would have loved to install a Linux OS on it but the family has no clue of how to use it. so i settle with windows XP. of course, windows just HAD to give me problems! in the first week, it suddenly had problems booting up; it wouldn't even go to safe mode. so i decided to redo the computer.

a couple of months passed and everything's going well. i'm back in school after the holidays and yesterday, my sister called me. "the computer is being weird. it hangs after i log-in." i asked her what she did differently before this error occured. she ran ad-aware and she claims that it deleted some sort of protocol. O_O

after hours and hours of trying to walk her through a solution, she was finally able to log-in (although there's still an issue of waiting time). but now she doesn't have access to the internet...

more problems and i still have yet to resolve them.

so what's there to regret about this whole building a computer business when it's software/program issues? well... my mother said, "see what happened! if we had just bought a normal computer, we wouldn't have all these problems! it's a waste of money!" >_< what a bitch! i bought all the good parts and over-clocked the system. i even bought the best heatsink out there that every nerd would drool over!!

i regret building my family a good computer. v__v

sorry if this turned out to a ranting/raving post.. but it's partly related. o.o

» Dentists

not too long ago...
i had a dentist who just kept yapping away at her assistant while she was fixing a cavity. that, of course, involved anesthetics and drilling. okay, so she put the anesthesia and i'm not supposed to feel any pain in that area. she starts drilling away but guess what. there she is, talking to her assistant while drilling, when suddenly i feel an intensely sharp pain ON MY TONGUE! the cow drilled the side of my tongue!!!!! >_____<

after that incident, i immediately sought another dentist. the one i go to now is really nice and gentle. AND HE PAYS ATTENTION TO HIS WORK!

» Airport Stories

"terrorist" and his "son"????
(my story takes place a few months after the terrorist attack on the world trade center.)
my father and i were coming from the philippines to visit relatives in san francisco. it was late december and the weather was really cold (for us anyway since we came from a tropical country). once we got to the airport, my father wanted to put on his thermals. so he asked me to hold his bags while he went to the public restroom.
when he came out, two security guards/police men approached him and started questioning him. "where's the brown item you carried in with you?" he said that it was his thermals and that he was wearing them. he reached down to sorta lift his pants to show the guards. they got scared and reached for their guns, told him not to move.
i went over to my father, trying to help him out. one of the police men looked at me and asked my father, "is this your son?" "no, she's my daughter!" in my head, i was thinking, "omfg! what kind of a police are you if you can't distinguish between males and females????"
after all the explanations we gave (about the thermals and me being a girl), we still had to go to security guards' office. in the end, they had to apologize to us for making that mistake. but god, we wasted 2 hours because of their incompetence!!!

regrets not getting it on in the server room
i was horny that afternoon but i was so paranoid because i knew that another techy was going around checking the servers since the office was having some problems lately.

but nooo... no one ever came in and my bf looked at me with a face that said, "you disappoint me."

even though i was turned on by the fact that we could get caught, this was just waaaay too risky! plus, we worked in a law firm! the worst place to get caught on your knees. :x
