My ex is an archaeologist
Remember her saying pretty much the same thing: in some British cities you could probably just start digging in a random spot in your garden and you'll probably find Roman artefacts.

I used to work on Liverpool Street
And it was fun watching the utilities companies turning up and digging up the road because you could guarantee it would be only minutes before they dug up a skeleton and had to stop work while they got hold of an archaeologist.
