That phrase is like nails down a blackboard to me.
Many things have been wrongly labelled as appropriated. Dreadlocks appeared in many cultures independently as did tattooing. I've read nonsense online saying white people shouldn't have dreads or tats, yet the celts were known to have both.
A lot of the complaints just seem like cultural fascism... one ethnicity saying to another that you can't do this or that because you're not one of us.
