This is a link post Weekend DIY project I made this!
Found a vid on the Adam Savage Tested channel a couple of years ago where they take a cheap plastic skull and turn it into a burnt, severed horror head. Cheap skulls seem to be in the shops this year (Wilko, Home Bargains) for £2.99 so I thought I'd have a go. All you need is the skull, cotton wool, liquid latex and acrylic paints. With a bit of care the cotton wool and latex build up is straight forward, but the painting is a bit more tricky - I think I over-did it, i.e. less is more. This is my result, which I'm happy with; starter skull on the left, my effort on the right.

This is a normal post It's great but by using plastic skulls you put hipster body snatchers out of business.

This is a normal post It's fairly easy, and certainly worth a go.
My children are doing their own with good results. Be prepared to trash some brushes though, the latex is a swine to wash out.
