Don't! Just Don't!
I once bit into one of those Anadin Ultra liquid-filled ibuprofen tablets. It was over 10 years ago but I remember vividly where I was, what film I was watching on the telly at the time, what day of the week it was and that I will NEVER do it again.

If you've ever done this, you'll know what I mean! Everyone else will think (quite rightly) that I am an utter, utter moron!

I'm just intrigued
Tell me *why* I shouldn't do this please.

Hmm.
It can't taste any worse than paracetemol, surely.

Think chemical burns to the mouth
and you're on your way to understanding

Ah.
So you really mean "don't do this." Noted. Thanks.

I once made the mistake of sucking the sugar coating off an ibuprophen tablet.
I can chew Paracetamol, Aspirin, Morpheme and a good many other things -- but I had to spit the tablet out.

Worse than MDMA?
How can something that's so good taste so bad???

Psilocybin
Mushrooms taste fucking dreadful too. Thank God for bananas.

I agree
I had really bad toothache some years ago and thought it would be a good idea.
Wrong!

it's a bad isea in other ways too
If the medicine is delivered in gelcaps they are designed for slow release. Biting into them means all that medicine that was meant to drip feed hits in a wallop. With OTC products its probably not too dangerous but they may deliberately make the taste foul to encourage you to spit it out.

I think it was Nurofen plus which had two liquid sections, one of which contained only the plus bit which was codeine. Surprisingly popular for some reason.

Yep
Agreed! I was approaching previously uncharted levels of boredom at the time though! I'll admit, I wasn't expecting it to taste minty or anything, but I was NOT prepared for that!
