This is a question Phobias

What gives you the heebie-jeebies?

It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*

Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

Snakes in toilets
I have always been afraid that a snake would come up through the toilet while I was using it. Then I found out that my older sister has this same fear. Just recently we ran into this article: timesonline.typepad.com/inside_iraq_weblog/2008/03/toilets-snakes.html

All of our worst fears have come true.

The RSPCA man confirms
When the nice man came to collect the snake that we had found inside a car's dashboard (now that was an interesting afternoon....at least it got my ugly mug into the MEN happily playing with the friendly wee slitherer)he mentioned that this was snake rescue No 2 (ahem) of the day.

The first had been happily lurking under the rim of the pan of a toilet.

Non-venomous (Corn Snake) but still capable of a nasty nip. Corn snakes tend to fed on 'pinkies' (baby mice). Now what would that snake see that was soft, pink and chompable in that location?

When I was a nipper
My dad told me a story about a runaway snake coming up through some poor sod's toilet and if I remember rightly I squatted for months

Old story
My folks told me long ago of an old chap who would see a snake every time he went to use the bog. No one would believe him as it was gone when they went to look and though the old mind was going.
Turns out another tenement had a pet python that escaped down the toilet. It couldn't get out that blocks system and came up occasionally in his bog.

And on a dissimilar note, I recount an old Alas Smith and Jones sketch with talk of some snake that would hide in the toilet and bite you on the nads.
"It has a poison to which there is no anecdote. One bite and its 'end of story'"

The usual picture of them is...

Thats one of the buggers trying to munch another one.

Friend of mine was out there. His shadow went across one, which alerts it to prey. Cue him running across the camp and jumping in one of the trucks with spider in close pursuit.
