Soz - I only do cryptics. You'll just have to bone up. :) This isn't a bad primer: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2010/may/03/how-to-solve-cryptic-crossword
I'll do a Crude Cryptics sweary xword primer when I get a chance. Some common conventions are emerging, e.g. 'fucking'/'fucked up' as an anagram indicator, 'hole' for letter O, etc.. :)

1) Buy Tim Moorey's book: www.amazon.co.uk/Times-How-Crack-Cryptic-Crosswords/dp/0007546521
2) Buy The Times and do the Quick Cryptic
3) You'll be able to do that pretty well after about 5-6 weeks; then have a crack at the main puzzle. Mondays are generally (but not always) easier.
Plus, once you've finished, you're left with what remains a (mostly) decent newspaper.

I hope the prize is a bar of soap to wash your mouth out, dirty birdy.

I've got 6 so far, but I'm not sure why one of them is right.

It was 3 but I'm happy it is right now.
I've only got 3 left to work out... 15, 17 & 28.

Another solver took me to task on 28a...not strictly Ximenean, but I maintain that given you can be pretty sure if you've got 23d right, the controversial cryptic indication for the last letter of 28a is fair. ;-)

I really like the (very few) clues I've got
Are you publishing solutions?
Also, I'd say this is easily better than Anus's puzzles in Viz.
