You could try playing your favourite classic computer game and commenting on it, or do top ten best compilations of top ten best thing compilations, or (commonly google searched thing from the past) retrospectives.
If you have a pet just film that.

Unless you want to part with money (do not), it's a waiting game. You are one of many many millions.
Patience. Also, don't make videos you think people want, make what YOU want.
Oh and avoid shorts. Shorts contribute to the general enshitification of the Internet at large, and the ever shortening attention span of mankind, like TikTok garbage does.
Most big YouTubers took 10 years or more to rise up. There isn't a shortcut that's sustainable.
For maximum exposure, you'll need to create identically named accounts on other platforms and keep them active, even if it's just promoting the YT channel.
