By coincidence, I was just thinking about how formulaic American sitcoms areCast : Slightly neurotic Jewish people (including stereotypical Jewish mother), at least one 'quirky'/eccentric friend, one promiscuous friend, one friend who may or may not be gay.
Everybody lies to each other in a crude attempt at sparing their feelings and the whole thing degenerates into a rubbish farce.
