Also the pedantic bastard in me finds it depressing how many Star Wars entries there are. Star Wars is neither science-fiction, nor is it (technically) set in the future!

i believe the argument goes that it is actually a fantisy filmas all of the sci-fi elements are only in the design rather than the plot.
i'd say it definately errs that way (it's got more in common with "lord of the rings" than "2001") but seeing how close the ganres are anyway it's a bit of a pointless debate.

Pointless - Hence the pedantryI'm from the field of belief that sci-fi uses hypothetical ideas, inventions and situations to explore morality and philosophy issues.
A simple example would be cloning; do clones have rights? And so on.
