meanwhile a tj; Im scanning in some photos to put on a digital picture frame. whats the best image type to use, a tiff possibly?

# With jpeg you can choose the quality, so you decide the trade-off between filesize and lossyness.
Digital picture frames are usually viewed from at least several feet away, so some degree of loss won't be noticeable anyway.
