Too late.
It was a mess, but it did have some nice bits in it. Zooey Deschanel, mostly.

Vogons were incredible
infinite improbability sequences (wool characters :D)
the look of Marvin (if not the voice)
and to a degree Ford and Zaphod
Ruined for me by Arthur appearing to be a bit bored and not constantly irritated
and the whole end bit

And the way the plot just didn't seem to flow
Like it was oddly edited or something. I dunno. Maybe we're just spoiled by the memories of the TV series and its superior cast.

Two fucking heads
How hard can it be to give one of the characters two fucking heads?

Zaphod didn't have two heads in the film?
I've obviously blocked it from my memory more successfully than I'd thought!

I quite liked the way they did it (head under his head)
but not the way that it was an unfinished storyline - took his head away in exchange for getting the gun, then forgot to go back and get the head - sequel that never happened

I watched it, and there were a couple of giggles
But it very much felt that the film wasn't for me. Felt like a film for families that hadn't read the book. Too much goof and love story, not enough surrealism and logical reverse-engineering.
Also Marvin looked like an Apple iMarvin, which didn't sit with my mental image of a clanking mess of arduino boards and servos.
Oh well, got to move on.
