DiaphramgasmI like the theory that it's a way for us to tell other primates within earshot that "it's certainly unusual, but probably harmless.
I don't think that that theory really explains all laughter though.
Also: "DEMON GIGGLES" was the loud accusation which sent my friends fleeing (and howling with laughter) from a church when they couldn't stop laughing at what the the pastor was saying. So yeah, the devil and stuff \,,/ ^_^ \,,/
