How do you reduce the size when linking from imgur?

Try saving the image to imgur smaller with more compression first.
Or just use b3ta's own image host which auto thumbnails it

Tend to do stuff on mobile most of the time so uploading to imgur app is the simplest. Now I know the width trick I’m sorted.

# Imgur auto generates different sizes on upload.
Just add either an s m or l to the filename before the extension like so:
