# help!
I'm making a project called the bayeux tapestry project.
www.chrisemerson.co.uk/bayeux/version2/
Only trouble is, i can't fit the entire bayeux tapestry on the site, it's just too wide!
Dreamweaver and frontpage restrict you to just under 32000 pixels, anyone know how to make the site wider to fit the whole tapestry in? Or an alternate editor which will allow you to make the page as wide as you desire?

# edit the source in notepad

# tried
i can't manage it tho, i'm not very good at html manually, seeing as i've got to add a few more images and text / links i can't manage it that way. What i need really is an alternate browser with no width restrictions.

# could you
make the page with a different, smaller picture, and then swap that picture for the larger one you want in notepad?
(, Sat 23 Aug 2003, 15:33, archived)
# having an image that wide will be a huge download
maybe it would be better to split it into a couple of chunks anyway?

# Hi Rob
Who is Lindalee? And why is she spamming me with news of you on bbc site?
(, Sat 23 Aug 2003, 15:36, archived)
# no idea who lindalee is
or why they are emailing you
(, Sat 23 Aug 2003, 15:39, archived)
# hmmmm - it's not to an address that i use for b3ta
anyway:
[email protected]

"Who is Rob Manuel? - B3ta.com BBC interview...

Please see the interview and spread the word....

www.bbc.co.uk/blackcountry/features/2003/08/rob_manuel/rob_manuel.shtml

Regards,

Linda"

they won't mind me signing them up for all sorts of web services then :)

# fucking hell
they used the whole interview. christ. I didn't expect that.

But uh - no idea why you'd be spammed with it. Both me and i'd imagine the BBC would have better things to do really.

# or an evil plot to make me look like a prat
(, Sat 23 Aug 2003, 15:45, archived)
# you do a fine job of that on your own :P
but seriously, i don't think so.. it's not malicious, merely irritating that this e-mail address is being spammed, it's a bit futile of whoever it is targetting b3tans, when b3tans are going to see it on the board at some stage...

I thought the inclusion of "spread the word" particularly cheesy :)

# !
why not just put it in flash with buttons to scroll side to side??
(, Sat 23 Aug 2003, 15:30, archived)
# why not just remake it as a CD rom project?
or burn an AVI on to DVD?
(, Sat 23 Aug 2003, 15:30, archived)
# Or make it in fabric
and take it round to people's houses when they want to see it?

# Har Har!

# if you just have several different images and use /pre tags won't it just stretch off into forever?
(, Sat 23 Aug 2003, 15:37, archived)
# Wow!
I didn't know you could do that!
