# he hee - woo!
I went on a guided tour round the St Pancras hotel - the huge gothic building at Kings Cross (usually closed). It was amazing. They had a lift and the nice woman that showed us round said she doubted anyone would've used it as it was just too radical. She said when they opened the first escalator in London there was a man at the top with a stiff brandy for the men and smelling salts for the ladies as it was all a bit too much. Such an odd thought. (Men gotthe better deal tho'. tut)

and he had to sit outside the room while the lifts kept moving up and down at random, opening their doors to play musak at him for brief periods.
