I think you may have made that up.
'Shit, leg it! It's the babylonians!'? Some weird biblical connotation?

Nonononono
It was originally a Rastafarian saying, as in "inna Babylon", but came to be used by hippies and other such human waste to mean the forces of law and order.

No but
i do know that my great great great great great great grandfather, Sir Robert Peel, invented the police, hence the name "Bobbies"

Or why they are called "cops"?
Or "rozzers"?
Or anything other than "Members of Her Majesty's Constabulary"? Actually, nevermind, the government will probably do away with any references to the crown...
Hehe, "members"!

cops short for coppers
from the latin "capper" (or is it "cappre") meaning "to capture"
Rozzer, from Robert (metropolitan police force founded by robert peel) in the same way that baz comes from barry or barney and whatnot

Plus
anyone who played to the end of the first GTA would know.
Which should be more.

Really?
I gave up at the point where I had to drive a limo into some gangsters mansion and then got rather excessively killed.
Still, can't see "babylon" catching on as a term for the fuzz (although, "picked up by the babylons" has an amusing ring to it...).

I think it's more a general term
for the forces of an oppressive white society. There was a link to that online dictionary-wiki-thing, about rastafarianism, but I don't remember what it was. Also, it may have been on a different message board.
Edit: The trick is to reverse it hard the moment you hit the checkpoint.
Edit2: No, wait, that's the abortion clinic limo one. I think I just got out and ran like fuck for the other one, but I don't remember it too well. What city was it?

Edit:
I've no idea which city. Nevermind, but thanks anyway!
I think I was still on my first ever game, my brother was quite annoyed as I was spoiling it for him (it was his copy). I had to stop as my eyeballs had dried out and, strangely, I haven't played it since (well, I have, but the maps have been lost, so I gave up again).
