Thatreminds me of a story I heard about a guy who was trying (unsuccessfully) to give away some puppies, until he struck upon the idea of wording his ad '3 lovely puppies and one ugly one. Free to good home.' Apparently about 20 people phoned up to ask if he still had the ugly one left.

there was a strip barin seattle that's used that ploy for years. when we moved there when I was young it was 9 beautiful strippers and one ugly one. then as a teen it was 19 beautiful strippers and one ugly one.
recently I saw the place again and it's become 99 beautiful strippers and one ugly one, but I just didn't think it had the same effect.
