Edit - It seems that posting a basic freedom in said country is offensive for some reason. It also seems that anyone who does anything that could be felt unbalanced quite clearly hates America and Americans. Does anyone else think that's bullshit? No? Guess I'm a terrorist and a hater then. Silly me for not realising.

I really have to disagree.

Many many people here may hate the current American government, but that's not the same as hating american people. Furthermore, most of what I've seen posted is poking fun at americans not hating them.
I agree that some do take it a bit far, and that some American viewers could be upset.

I've no time for hysterical/ignorant America bashing either, but getting worked up about a bit of burning cloth is just as silly.

Flag burning is offensive to Patriotic people. Patriotic people are, to my mind, people who have an irrational belief that their country is somehow better than everyone else's. It's just a piece of cloth! Please, burn a Union Jack, an EEC flag, burn pictures of the Queen and of Blair.

Burning Americans would be in poor taste.

I rather thought that the whole point of the US constitution was that it stood for your right to exprss yourself however you wish flag burning or otherwise.
