Program files and backed them up before I installed the new one.
Trying my hardest to get it back to how it was now.
Update: I think I have done it. Not only does it alter the program files, it alters the 'iTunes Library' file in the My Music directory. Luckily, it creates a backup first. With the help of this file, I think I have restored my play counts.
Advice: Don't upgrade iTunes. If it works, don't fix it.
