Is the source of the test cited? What I've always heard (but I don't have sources to back it up) is that cats have trouble seeing things that aren't moving (which is why they often bob their heads from side to side when looking at something), and that they're quite nearsighted compared to humans (can't see clearly more than a few meters away). That doesn't sound like it's superior to human vision at all.
