Well..
..it called itself ".NET Server" or somesuch - I got the CD from someone who's better educated about what MS stuff does what than me.
It looks like XP, it configures like XP, it crashes like XP (though I do have a singular talent for crashing OS's, so we can't necessary entirely blame MS) so I figured it was XP.
(I'm a Linux freak, if you hadn't noticed :)
