The last series of Mighty Boosh struggledAt least the League of Gentlemen knew when to quit. Same goes for the Fast Show. Have a listen to 'Down the Line' or whatever it's called on Radio 4 for Whitehouse and Higson comedy gold.

That's entirely it.All the best ones knew when it had run it's course and knew not to alienate the fans by milking them ( although LoG Apocalypse was near the taking the piss line )
